Welcome back once again, very few of you who care.

It's time for another proper entry into the Rivals Test Run series and the penultimate run for Blue Oak. Let's get this one out of the way.

Due to a lack of recording equipment, physical games to use, and technological competency, all battles presented are simulated via Pokemon Showdown (so sadly, no Leaders' item use among other alterations :/)

Canon Starter: Charmander
This is just a striaght cut-paste of Episode 1A: Blue/Green 1 for obvious reasons. Feel free to move on to the good stuffs.

Evidence for this choice: Contrary to popular belief (and what both the main anime and Origins, Generations and Smash to a lesser extent) may have you think, Red's Starter was actually Bulbasaur (the first protagonist getting the #001 Pokemon). By the nature of the games, Blue would pick the cute little fire lizard as a consequence. This is backed up by both old artwork of Red, Blue/Green, and Leaf/Blue (who has Squirtle by default) circled together with their respective Starter, as well as Red having Bulbasaur in the Generations premiere:

Blue's teams - here are what Blue has to work with for this Test Run series:
Team 1 (Oak's Laboratory): Charmander (Lv5)
i) excluded for being FAR too weak to contend with Brock
Team 2 (Route 22): Pidgey (Lv9), Charmander (Lv9)
i) to be used against solely Brock, being too weak to handle Misty
Team 3 (Cerulean City/Nugget Bridge): Pidgey (Lv18), Abra (Lv16), Rattata (Lv15), Charmander (Lv18)
i) excluded entirely for both continuity reasons and for being too weak to handle Misty
Team 4 (S.S. Anne): Pidgeotto (Lv19), Raticate (Lv16), Kadabra (Lv18), Charmeleon (Lv20)
i) to be used against Misty and Lt. Surge, being too weak to handle Erika
ii) Raticate has been leveled up to Level 20 due to Showdown not letting me use it underleveled; it now has sabotaged stats to match its intended level of power
Team 5 (Pokemon Tower): Pidgeotto (Lv25), Exeggcute (Lv23), Gyarados (Lv22), Kadabra (Lv20), and Charmeleon (Lv25)
i) to be used against both Erika, being too weak to use against Koga
Team 6 (Silph Company): Pidgeot (Lv37), Exeggcute (Lv38), Gyarados (Lv35), Alakazam (Lv35), Charizard (Lv40)
i) to be used against Koga, Sabrina, and Blaine, being too weak to contend with Giovanni
Team 7 (Route 22 retread/pre-Victory Road): Pidgeot (Lv47), Rhyhorn (Lv45), Exeggcute (Lv45), Gyarados (Lv47), Alakazam (Lv50), Charizard (Lv53)
i) to be used against Giovanni, concluding this run
Team 8 (Indigo Plateau/Championship Battle): Pidgeot (Lv61), Alakazam (Lv59), Rhydon (Lv61), Exeggutor (Lv61), Gyarados (Lv63), Charizard (Lv65)
i) excluded for being FAR beyond Giovanni and the Gym Leaders

Gym Leader teams - and here is what Blue must overcome to reach the Elite Four
Gym #1 - Brock: Geodude (Lv12), Onix (Lv14)
Gym #2 - Misty: Staryu (Lv18), Starmie (Lv21)
Gym #3 - Lt. Surge: Voltorb (Lv21), Pikachu (Lv18), Raichu (Lv24)
Gym #4 - Erika: Victreebel (Lv29), Tangela (Lv24), Vileplume (Lv29)
Gym #5 - Koga: Koffing (Lv37), Muk (Lv39), Koffing (Lv37), Weezing (Lv43)
i) due to the Species and Ability clauses enforced by Pokemon Showdown, this battle had to be done by the "[Gen 6] Anything Goes" setting to permit two Koffings in battle; the consensus is that this made Koga's ultimate loss a lot less one-sided
Gym #6 - Sabrina: Kadabra (Lv38), Mr. Mime (Lv37), Venomoth (Lv38), Alakazam (Lv43)
Gym #7 - Blaine: Growlithe (Lv42), Ponyta (Lv40), Rapidash (Lv42), Arcanine (Lv47)
Gym #8 - Giovanni: Rhyhorn (Lv45), Dugtrio (Lv42), Nidoqueen (Lv44), Nidoking (Lv45), Rhyhorn (Lv50)
i) due to Showdown's Species Clause, Giovanni's second Rhyhorn had been evolved into a Rhydon
